Transitions

Me and ds are having trouble with transitions.... When I come back from work I am knackered, fairly disconnected and just want to sit for 5 minutes with a cup of tea. However, ds wants to instantly breastfeed and goes mental if I refuse. He has a huge tantrum. Obviously e sees this as a big rejection. Its bloody awful. The more he screams, the more i detach. On my days off and holidays i am well bonded, but working seems to interfere really badly. I'm just not one of these people that seems to be able to have it all / do it all. The transitions from home to work and back seem really harsh. I work 2 1/2 days a week. He is 16 months and even if dp is there he just wants me. I have posted a similar question, and am just after some strategies for dealing with the mental turmoil we both go through.

I think you need some way of getting the 5 minutes downtime before you see him. Can you park round the corner before you pick him up and just spend a few minutes breathing?
