Where do they get their stock from? Does anyone know?

all sots of places.
fairs, donations, scouring other shops, collectors, house clearances.

wherever they find them.

The 2nd hand shop I use runs like a dress agency, people bring old clothes in and get a percentage of the sale price back. The shop's quite picky about what they'll take but they're frequently overwhelmed with stock and have signs up saying they're not taking any for a few weeks to give the backlog time to be sold.
