Just got word I have to go for a second interveiw next week. What is this some kind of slow torture?

They had me sitting for 35mins last week before they even got me into the actual interview.

So what are 2nd ones all about, what will they ask or expect?

Oh bad luck Skribble! My dh had this for a few jobs, but he works in IT and the additional ones seemed to be mostly about technical competency. He found it really tough, so I understand where you are at. What happened at the first one? About the waiting around, I have been to a few interviews that overrun - might be all these talkative creative types? :o

I was first in, they were just late. I don't think there was much creativity amoungst them TBH.

I was actually quite happy with how i did, faffed about with a few of the questions but manged to bring it around and actually answer. I got a few good questions myself and the general manager was happy to chat away.

I think the second one might involve a walk around the venue, which will be funnyas I know the place quite well apart from the offices. Just wondering what they will go into further.

I managed to chat to few people at work today with experience in HR, local councils and interviewing and they think that I should read up on training, management techniques, the councils budget for arts and the councils standards of practice and any other policies on quality of service etc.

Well thats the second interview over with. It started with a tour of the place, which was a bit funny as I knew most of the place anyway. But it was a good chance to chat away to the manager and get to know him.

Then I had to go back in with the three of them and they went a bit more indepth and let me ask lots more questions> dried up a bit as I really couldn't think what else to asl, I turned it around and asked if they could go in to more detail about ny actual duties, then I asked about funding etc.

One of them cracked a joke about the apprentice and said so tell me why should we employ you!?

Very relaxed and chatty, the personnel person even thanked me and said that she had really enjoyed the interview, which sounded promising. I have to wait until friday for a decision Angry.

Fingers crossed Skribble!

Thanks Grin, if i get it then I have the real headache of child care, I think it will be 50% evenings so as long as I can pick up the kids and drop at granny's before i strat then it should be OK. I think I may still have to buy a small automatic car for MIL but it will still be cheaper than a childminder or taxis and the kids will still be able to do their after scholl activities.

Well I didn't get it. It was between two of use after the second interview! I think the fact that I was close to getting it was worse than not being considered at all. Sad

So I decided to open my own shop today, and I did. OK so it is an Ebay shop but it is a shop Grin.
