Hi, does anyone know if this is the only qualification I would need to work in pre-schools and nurserys? If so what is the best way to achieve it? I would love to work with small children and have a 5 year old myself so am looking for hours to fit round him.

Which NVQ are you referring to ? There are a number of ways of getting into childcare and you don't actually have to be qualified although it may give you an edge in this competitive field. Volunteering in a setting would help too and is often a requirement for a NVQ level 3.
