Marketing 101

I need help with marketing.

I have created an educational software game which I now want to promote.

But I'm a computer programmer and know nothing about marketing.

Can anyone tell me who can help me? I.e. what kind of person or company can help me?

I kind of know who I want to tell about the game, I certainly know who my target market is, but I need help with wording emails and things like that.

I want to discuss with someone things like should I promote it via email or via fliers or face to face? What would I put on a flyer? How would I word a cold calling email?

So, what kind of a person do I need to help me?

Any idea how I'd find a small enough PR company that I would be able to afford them?

The game is very specialised and does not need 'mass marketing'. It needs very targeted marketing.

If it's very specialised can you work out who would be most likely to be interested and where these people hang-out on-line? Maybe you can do a viral marketing campaign yourself without flyers etc??

I think online promotion is going to be best. It'll certainly be cheapest and most targeted.

But I need help with wording it.

And all the little stuff around trying to market it online.

It's not the kind of thing everyone's going to want. It's quite niche.

I think you need a marketing consultant who can help you with marketing plan. PR can then be part of that plan.
