After reading threads on here about working for yourself and using your skills, I've bitten the bullet and put an advert on gumtree as a freelance tutor.

Have had my first student tonight! I did a bit of prep first but she was delighted and has skipped off with an essay plan and has booked another hour next week,

I know it's not exactly my first £1000 per day but its a start and I can fit it round DC

My next question is where do I take it next? I don't have any formal teaching qualifications just masses of specialist experience and knowledge. Can I put an advert up in uni or the student union? Where else do tutors advertise?

Btw special thanks to Xenia as it was her posts on a prev thread that gave me the boot up the arse I needed to stop talking about it and do it Smile

People per hour is good, perhaps not local though.
