Commissioning and the new Nhs

Help I'm going for an interview for health visiting in a few weeks and these terms baffle me, any one got any ideas I would be very grateful xx

Commissioning approx means 'setting out terms for the provision of services'. Someone commissions every public service whether its GP or HVs

So the money and responsibility for deciding who provides a service, the level and financial remuneration for a service goes to a 'commissioner'

The commissioners are employed by e.g. DoH or local govt. There have been recent changes in which services are being commissioned from DoH or govt commissioners.
