parental leave

I applied for leave 10 days ago and as yet i haven't had the decency of a reply. I wrote in writing with the dates I required but heard nothing back. The law says you should have a reply within 7 working days and i haven't.
What do I do next? Write to them again or contact the union??
Have googled but not found anything

Presumably you have spoken to your manager about the request? Have you asked him/her about it? If the request was sent to HR have you rung and checked they've got it?
