Notice period question

If you are promoted and with that promotion normally comes an extension of notice period (1 month to 3 months), but your manager forgot to give you the letter to sign, do you have to give 3 months notice?

If you've not had written notification of an increased notice period, then your notice period remains the same. You are not expected to work out what changes your employer ought to have made and abide by them.
