Hi there I'm 22 weeks pregnant and just about to put in my forms for smp! I have 2 weeks sickness during my qualifying period but I receive full pay for 6 months when off sick. Will being off sick affect my smp entitlement??? I've read a few things that if off sick during qualifying period you may lose out but is this just for people who only receive ssp and not full pay when sick? Help I'm worried now lol!! Thanks!

SMP is based on whatever pay you actually receive during the qualifying period, so if you get full pay while off sick, your SMP will not be affected.

Hi thanks for reply I thought that was the case was just panicking when I looked on Internet and found posts about being sick and losing smp! But I now know that's for workers who only receive statutory sick pay makes sense now! Thanks!
