When to start looking

Hi all

I've begun to think about heading back to work. I want to go when DD2 is 6 months old. Ideally I would like to wait until she is 1 but, due to financial reasons, I need to return earlier.

DD2 is currently 3 months old. After having DD1 I didn't return to work. We were living in another country at that point and then returned to the UK when she was just over 6 months (by that time I found out I was pregnant again).

I'd be looking at work which involve heavy checks (Civil Service etc) so should
I start looking and applying now?

Any advice would be welcome. Thank you.

Yes, start now. Most companies seem to take a month or so to answer applications and have a start date a few months in advance. Start looking, get an idea of what you want to do, and good luck!

I applied for my current job in early Oct and started in Jan. this was after almost a year of looking.

I had no notice period and they wanted an ASAP start Hmm

Good luck Smile
