Asking me to change my days

I have worked in a shop for 2 years and 4 months. I work Tuesday and Friday.
I explained in the interview that I need 2 fixed days because I need to arrange child care. My daughter goes to an after school club and they need to know what days I do.
My manager has said that they need me to do lunch cover 2 days and 1 full day. They say it is a change in staffing needs since our full timer left . However they replaced her.
I think they have been working up to this.
What can I do?
I explicitly said I can only do the job 2 days a week.
My contract does say 16 hours and to be able to work according to the shops needs.
Do I have a verbal agreement?
I really need some advice.

I also must add that my manager employed her best friend who is inflexible and only works mon to fri.
She has also just increased her other friend at work hours. She is very close to these women and socialises alot with them. I feel like they are running the business to suit there needs and I just have to fit in or ship out

Yes, things have changed . They have employed a weekend member of staff. Now they want me to work 1 full day and 2 days lunch cover. I have said I don't want to do this .
I am miffed because the girl that was doing weekends and Thursday's , has replaced the full timer. She is good friends with the manager, prior to getting the job. I don't know why they increased her hours. Surely it would have been better to fit her in around my hours? And we would be using less hours.
The 2 other woman I work with ( her friends) get everything they want, uniform etc. I just feel like I have no come back about this as she has surrounded herself with friends!
I don't think head office realised they were friends when she employed thenm.

Why can't you change your days?

Would you only need one day's after school club, but three days childcare (2short in the school holidays)?
The answer is yes they can change your hours if the business needs it if you don't want to change they can after due process manage you out if they can show a business need.
Though as you have a school age child it strikes me they might think this suits you better.

I think lunch cover while kids are at school sounds perfect cos you don't need to pay for childcare

I'd be looking for a new job though as it sounds very cliche

They have asked. You have said no. Are they now saying there is no job for you or something?

They would like the days to be flexible? Is there room for negotiation to say full day is fixed, but could vary lunch cover days?
