Requesting specific days for return to work?

I work in heathcare (private) and our collective day runs from 8am-9pm with most people doing a variety of shifts inc late, early and long days but some work fixed days/hrs to suit their circumstances and have done for years.

I was doing 26hrs per week and would like to drop to 19hrs and request to do them from 8-6 on tues and wed. The reason being that my preferred childminder only has spaces on those days.

Is this a goer do you think, or is it an unreasonable request?

You can only ask. Do you have a flexible working policy? Is there a formal process by which you would make this request?
I suppose it would depend on the job you did, Hopefully someone more useful will be along with some advice....
Congratulations and good luck

I submit my request to change hours via a formal MAT form but the shifts on regular days is at the discretion of the dept manager.

I'd speak to you department manager about it then.
Good luck!
