Another one about change to hours!

I suspect this has been done to death but would appreciate any advice...

I have worked in the same p/t job (25 hours per week, 5 hours per day), same shift for 10 years. I am part of a team of roughly 12. Employer has decided that the current shift patterns do not meet the needs of the organisation so want to change the shift patterns to cover the whole day and weekends more evenly.

They have also said that due to a review of Health and Safety by Occupation Health no one can work more than 4 hours in any one shift.

I am concerned they will force me to change my hours and that I will have to work a split shift in order to maintain my hours.

Where do I stand on this?

Depends on your contract have you got a union?

I'm not in a union, only one member of the team is and apparently her rep has said he will come into a meeting next week with us and management.

Contract shows the shift I've been working although it mentions that 'flexiblity' may be required at times.
