I am a mother tongue English teacher abroad. where I live you are employed on a contract basis. I am paid lower than most and my contract is up for renew. I know they want me In September wiith more hours. I also know that another school are desperate and from what i hear pay better. Also a colleague asked me if I was interested in a position nearer to home and my children's school. However I like my school and the people I work with and am happy to stay but would like more money now that I have proved myself.

I never had to ask from more money before how do I do it?

make your case calmly and justify it...don't threaten anything (like leaving) unless you would go through with it..If the levels others are on is common knowledge and you are doing the same job, point that out....above all be professional about it...
