With the winter bouts of colds. Have emailed boss in a few instances and explained that my toddler was ill and can I have a days annual leave. But feel like I don't want to let the team down.

Just wondering what other people do?

Do you have a DH that can take it in turns?
Any family nearby?

smearedinfood · 17/01/2013 07:57

Can split with DH, he's a contracter so have tended not to but have more likely to lately in case boss think's I'm starting to take the piss.

I did do a sneaky and called in sick on Monday

Are you entitled to parental leave? I think I get 5 days unpaid, though I do usually get them paid

Parental leave is usually leave booked in advance so isn't much good for sick kids. Obviously some employers may be more flexible.
