Will I ever find a job again?

I have always worked since leaving school and have been successful at interviews, since having my first child 10 years ago, I decided to leave work and be a full time mum.

When my youngest child turned three, I decided to go back to work, purely because I was so short of money.

I trained to be a TA and in the two years since finishing the course, despite doing voluntary work, I have never even had an interview.

After two years of trying my confindence is down to zero, all the rejection letters say I don't have experience of working in a school.

I haven't even managed to find a sodding dinner lady job despite applying for jobs.

I must have the school holidays off to look after the children and be able to take them and pick them up from school.

Just feel so dejected, what can I do to earn some cash? I do a cleaning job already and hate it.

Is it possible to volunteer at a local school or playgroup?

This would look good on your cv and give you some experience or possibly lead to a position.

Gawd, job hunting is so demoralising. I know the feeling.

I am bank staff dinner lady, it took 8 months to get my first shift but now working about 25% of the time (I suspect there's a cost savings for the school in not having to make me a regular employee ).

If you could do that, it would get you a recent job reference and possibly be a way to get your foot in the door of same school. What about another way of working as bank staff or for a temporary agency? Don't just think primary, look at secondary school bank staff, too (including dinner ladies).

You will need to consider childcare for your DC unless you can work at their same school (I know this is a pain). Also LSA jobs are sometimes more limited hours, something to check on.
