With an admin post you will probably be working over the hols and for a teaching assistant it would depend on your contract. Sorry not very helpful.

I think, but may be wrong, that your pay is calculated into 12 equal payments, so you continue to get a payment say in August when you won't actually be in school.

nutcracker · 12/04/2006 21:21

No problem Lucy, you know as much as me Grin

Posey, i thought that may be the case but thought i'd check.

The jobs I have seen (TA) pay monthly are pro rata for the times you are working.

I want to be a TA Grin !

In our school it as as Posey says nutcracker, 12 equal payments for almost all non teaching staff.

nutcracker · 12/04/2006 21:23

I get full pay all year, some only get paid termtime (but pay is equally split to get 12 payments)

Joceybean · 12/04/2006 21:30

I work in a Pre-school and my pay is divided over 12 months so I get a paid every month.

Posey · 12/04/2006 21:45

This has reminded me of something that I have to share with you!
My dad was a teacher. When he first started out,in the mid 1960s, you didn't get paid in August, but got double pay in July. My mum remembers clearly the first time this pay reached £100! £100 for 2 months teaching. They thought they'd made it!

i work part time in secondary school and pay is divided up over 12months, if you work 25+ hours a week its classed as full time and you get extra holiday pay at my school

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 12/04/2006 22:02

Nutty - I get paid for 39 weeks work plus 4 weeks paid holiday - that gets paid in 12 equal payments.
