Request for change to hours: if you appealed, did you win?

So the more I look into the Right to Request Flexible Hours legislation the more I realise it's a law without real clout. However I'm looking for others' experiences (and maybe an injection of optimism in regards to my own situation)... has anyone actually appealed and won?

I applied for flexible working, was refused Sad and was gutted coz i had worked with the firm for years, however I appealed but in the meantime they worked something out (to suit themselves i should add) I would only advise that you do your research and make sure all your reason for applying for fw are water tight iyswim

I should add that after a month I quit and i'm now a SAHM Grin but i really do hope it works out for you

Shellybelly thanks for your response. In your case, when you say they worked something out, do you mean they offered some different hours from what you'd requested? Did your appeal progress or was it a case of 'drop the appeal, take this other option we're offering or tough luck?'
