When do you hear back re Maternity Allowance?

I got SMP before and honestly can't remember how that worked either.

I'm now self-employed and have applied for MA from the end of January. When do I hear back from them about my application? Or do I not?

I heard back about 3 or 4 weeks after submitting my application. I submitted it about 28 weeks I think, so all in plenty of time for starting Mat Leave at 37 weeks.
