Refund WWYD?

I run a small crafts school with short courses. One of my students quit after one class citing personal issues. She's now politely asked for a refund-WWYD?
My T&Cs clearly state no refunds after the course has commenced but TBH I feel a bit mean.

Would you offer a % of the course price back or stick to your guns?

STICK TO YOUR GUNS
her problem, not yours

It would depend how it would leave me financially - have you had an outlay for materials? If it meant I was struggling to pay my Vat bill etc I wouldn't refund but I think I would otherwise. Largely because running a small business like that relies a lot on friendliness and word of mouth and general good feeling. Or you could say that you normally don't refund but in this case you'll refund 50%.

NO NO NO NO
Offer her a discounted rebook on a later course but NO money back
sets FAR too dangerous a precedent

Thanks guys, I had offered her a private lesson which she decided not to take so I've emailed her to say no refund. You're right, I should stick to my guns, it will cost me a fortune otherwise!
