Job search engines?

Aside from the usual jobcenter plus, indeed, monster, trovit and jobisjob. And reed.

I'm limited with jobs due to a mix of health and childcare but i've just come on to JSA (They botched up my claim and owe me money for cutting my income support and leaving me 6 weeks with £82 only in my bank per week) I've applied for 8 jobs in the last 2 days so far which tbh i know is quite good going but maybe im just too desperate to get a job and too impatient to wait for the next step. Does anyone know of anymore job search engines or websites i could use? I've registered with lots of them. I've gone into places and asked for applications, many wont give me an application form because they're not employing and arent taking volunteers.

Have you considered doing spontaneous applications to companies that are locsl to you and in your field. Also contact agencies that recruit for your profession.

I don't know if they are relevant employers for you, but I don't see local govt., county or district, or schools in your list. I know that locally they don't advertise on the sites you mention (not even direct.gov).

Also regularly check employers websites who you think you might want to work for.

I've asked the schools locally and they only take volunteers, that doesnt count towards me looking for a job apparently and still means i have to sign on every 2 weeks. What really irritates me now is that I've been told that local newspapers dont count towards looking for a job either :S There is one paper dedicated to jobs and that paper according to the job seekers adviser doesnt count. I'm still looking in the papers though.
