Hi, does anybody know whether you can share leave with your partner if you receive maternity allowance?
I'm due baby no2 and as I was self employed prior to this maternity 'leave' I'm receiving mat allowance. I'm interviewing for a FT position to return to before the end of my mat allowance period and both my DP & I really want him to be able to take over caring for DCs. (He works FT) I guess he can take unpaid leave for 3 months from his work but it seems like he could have longer if he could share my mat leave. Does anyone know whether you have these sorts of rights if previously self-employed/returning to FT work? Or who the right body is to advise? Thanks!
