Consultation meetings - what to ask??

Work meeting today told us what we have suspected for some time - that our office is closing in December, and they will try and find us jobs elsewhere in the co, failing which we are at risk of redundancy.

I have my consultation meeting tomorrow - have never been in this situation before, what is it likely to entail, and what sort of questions should I ask?

When will I get a definite decision?

Will I need to work my notice period or will I be paid in lieu of notice?

What happens about my holiday entitlement, will I have to take it before I leave or will it be paid out?

How is my redundancy pay calculated?

What happens about tax on my redundancy pay?

Will I get a reference?

Will I be able to take time off for job hunting or to talk to recruitment agencies?

What will happen about my pension?

When will I find out whether there are any vacancies internally?

How do I apply for any vacancies?

Will there be external candidates I need to compete against?

What happens if I and a colleague both apply for the same job?

What happens if I don?t want either an internal vacancy and there is one?

What happens if I am not sure about a new internal job but would like to try one of them out?

Who should I contact (and how) if I have any more questions?
