verbal warning from police

My exp does not want any communication from me in the form of texts, phonecalls, written, emails, talking to him or his friends. We have a one year old DD together. He lives across the road and does not see her. .ExP has a history of being arrested for assaulting me and so was probably getting his own back.

Instead of telling me to not contact him ( 4 times in a year is not considered excessive by me) he phoned the police and asked them to tell me not to contact him. They said they were disgusted by his behaviour but had to follow the law and give me a verbal warning if I chose to ignore them I would be prosecuted for harassment.

My question is wether I have to declarethis verbal warning to my employer. I work in a very responsible job in the NHS and have an enhanced disclosure CRB
check. Also will I have to inform my professional body? Can this impact on my future job prospects?

Do you have a union? They would be my first port of call. Sorry I can't offer any concrete advice.

Well this sounds a bit extreme, either you are not telling us everything or I would be seeking some sort of legal advice and challenging the police?! ( don't know if you can do that?). CRB should be updated regularly, approx every 3 years so if yours is updated then it will come out sooner or later. Personally I would come clean to your managers but by challenging the warning you would be showing that you were trying to clear your name. Anything on a CRB should be considered in terms of the relevance to your job so without knowing what you do it's hard to know how it could affect you.

Don't worry this is a non criminal disposal and the only place it is recorded is with your local police force. It def wont come up on a CRB check as it isn't a charge or conviction. The only way it can be used/seen by anyone is if you were to go against warning the local police could use it to contribute towards a full case of harassment. If there's no more than what you've said I'm quite surprised you even got a warning, but this is usually dealt with by individual officers so the decision on how to dispose is down to them. Don't worry about it being on CRB or anything else, it is just what you said, a verbal warning and nothing more.

Nope OP, all they've done is had a word with you. Nothing on your record, only a note on a police system somewhere. Nothing will come up on a CRB from that.
If it was a caution or a criminal conviction you would either have gone through the courts or been in custody at the police station. You would have been explicitly told what was happening and the effects a conviction would have.
