Work Stress

Hi,
I am in a complete quandary and would really appreciate some advice. I am currently signed off work with stress. I was raped after a company event by a licensed taxi driver. Due to lack of evidence the driver was let off, even though I discovered 3 months later he had passed on an STI to me.
I still work at the company and every day is a constant reminder of what happened.
I am looking for another job, but am not sure what to say if a new company wants to know why I am leaving my current job. I have been looking for some time now and its tough out there.
Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

Poor you, what a horrible thing to happen Sad

I think it's always fine to just say "career progression" as a reason for changing jobs.

May I suggest that I also think it might be a good idea to go back to your GP about this and get some kind of help in dealing with what's happened, changing jobs might help or it might not change the way you are feeling in which case you are back at square 1. if you like your job and until this incident were happy there it might be worth trying to find ways to cope with your feelings instead of moving on iyswim?

Good luck and be kind to yourself Brew

Thank you fauxFox
I am currently on the waiting list for specialist rape counselling. The wait can be months though.
I did like my job before this happened, but its more than feelings as the taxi driver works in the area I work, so I am faced with the fear of seeing him every day!
I'm desperately looking for work every day.
Just feel so desperately sad and down about the whole thing :(
