I'm currently on ML till March '13 but recieving MA till Dec '12. I've already checked I'd be entitled to child tax credit.

I was unable to work most of pregnancy due to compliciations in pregnancy but also due to my unsupportive employers who werent willing/able to adpat my work to help with these complications and due to this I dont want to go back after ML so plan to hand my notice in according to contract.

a) will this mean I'm not entitled to child tax credit cause I've left employment
b) even tho I'm on ML if I hand in notice can my employer make me work my notice while on ML

my DD is 17 weeks and I'm BF

Thanks for help in advance

Tax credits aren't determined by how you left your job so as long as your household income falls below specific levels then you would be eligible for them.

If you handed in your notice when due back from mat leave then your employer can (technically) make you come in to work your notice. I had to give a month's notice so I informed my employer a months before I was due back so although I was still employed by them (on mat leave) I ceased employment before I was due bac to the office.
