phlebotomy training

please could someone help me out.i am thinking of training to be a phlebotomist ,the course is 2-50 over 2 days.at the end of it i will get a certificate of competencies but is that enough to get me a job or do i need further training and so where and howdo i gain this.please help as i would like to start asap x

Hi well done on taking the first step. Are you thinking of working in hospitals?

I'd suggest contacting the phlebotomy department in your local hospital - ours doesn't require new employees to have any experience as they train them up themselves.

thank you so much for replying.im happy to work in any environment really.quite a few hospitals near me so i will ring round and enquire.however there has to be jobs available to train surely? where are you located smileitssunnyl?

Have a look on NHS jobs website as that tends to be where most jobs are advertised now.

Our dept take on untrained and train them up. I was already trained,though. I got my job on the NHS website.
