Can u change your date of returning after mat leave the day ur due back?

Ok DD is 6 weeks old I am planning to go back Monday but I'm breastfeeding and don't want to stop yet. It's a 3 hour a evening job . The manager is not back until Monday . Could I ask her if I can prolong it a bit further? My hubby is going to cover the work as he has been doing.

No reason why you would have to stop breastfeeding for just a 3hr break? But if you don't want to go back that soon I'm sure they would understand?

My company ask for 8 weeks notice prior to returning to work however and I think it's the same for most big firms, this might not be relevant to you however!

There is a legal requirement for you to give 8 weeks so they could say no depends on how flexible they want to be for you.

Well tha manager was kind of persuading me to take more time off so I will see what she says Monday
