I've been a satm for 8 years and been a single mum for the past three. I was not long out of uni when I had my first so don't have a profession to go back in to so I'm basically looking for a job to fit in with school hours.

I have no idea what to put on a cv. I can fill up the work/ qualification section but do I need to put a section about interests? Should there be a personnel statement there or should that information go in a covering letter?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't know if this will help, but my cv is set out as follows:
name
address
tel no
mobile no
email - make sure this is somewhat professional not something like [email protected]

Personal profile/statement - I use the job advert as a guide when writing this. So might change a bit depending on the job

Key skills - things like time management, ICT skills, teamwork

Employment history

Education - GCSE, A level, University

Training and Personal development - these are the courses/training I've had while working, such as communication skills, team building/leadership courses, adult education courses, etc

Volunteer work - like you I was unemployed several years while raising the family so I listed my volunteer work with playgroup committees, school pta, listening to children read at school.

References - usually employers want 2

Hi. I've been in a managerial post for 10 years which has involved interviewing lots of people for posts in my department. Mainly admin orientated and hence generally applicants from women. If you would like to put a CV together and email it over to me I would be more than delighted to give you some feedback.
