Do you pay per 1000 words or by the page or what?

TIA

It depends what exactly it is you want. Is it just typing up handwritten notes/a novel or are you looking for it to be edited into an immediately usable document?

I'm a copywriter/editor and for any job where data was presented in handwritten format I'd need to see a sample before I could quote for it. So you either need to look for a typist or editor who will most likely quote by word count upon seeing a sample (it depends on legibility) or you can take your chances with a content mill.

You'll pay from £8 per 1,000 with a content mill and quite probably get gibberish back. The SfEP gives a hint at what editors charge.

I'd be happy to take a look and give you a quote. PM me if you're interested.

My dad wrote a book 20 years ago

It is typed - we are deciding between getting it copy typed or scanned & OCR

It's all a bit complicated for me
