Basically i have 3 girls ages 6, 9 & 12. After having children I have since had fairly low paid jobs in schools with the holidays off. Obviously huge childcare bonus!!
I had an interview y'day for a job I did pre kids & it's full time. Ok obvious plus's are job satisfaction & more money BUT is it going to be worth the stress of being a full time working mum for 3 girls? Am so confused don't know what to do for best Confused

I definitely recommend doing a job you enjoy that pays well.

To be a ft mother with 3 dcs, you have to think through the logistics very carefully.

  • What wraparound childcare do you need during term time
  • what holiday childcare do you have in place
  • are your hours flexible
  • what if your children fall ill
  • who will do doctors/dentist/hair etc appointments
  • how will cooking/housework/chores/admin be shared out
  • what support can your partner, if you have one, provide
  • will you need to travel

Personally, I have a live-in aupair and she is a godsend. I could not do it as stresslessly as I do without her. My dcs are 9 and 6 and I work ft fairly long hours.

Finding is good aupair is as much luck as science!

Go onto to the 'Childminders, Nannies, Aupairs' and search for old threads giving tips on how to hire aupairs.

Some people use agencies but I prefer to use www.aupair-world.net. My preference is for aupairs with reasonably good English, previous aupair experience and good references.
