I am currently completing an application form and the person spec details
Commitment with equal opps as an essential criteria?

Many moons ago I covered equal opps as part of a NVQ 3 in Business and Administration and recently had to complete an online module which related
to diversity, is this relevant? what else can I include??

Something along the lines of
'in my current position I treat colleagues and customers with dignity and respect.

I keep my knowledge up to date on the various strands of diversity, and recently supplemented this knowledge with a formal qualification on the subject.'

if you really wanted to go for it, you could add:

'I am aware of how decisions of [housing / council / whatever sector you are in] employees, which could be deemed to be discriminatory in nature, can have a significant negative impact on individuals, the wider community and public confidence in [housing / council services / whatever], and as a result I ensure that all decisions I make, and those of my team, are capable of withstanding objective scrutiny.'

Practical actions, not waffle. So, yes, include the training. But then, e.g., you ensure meetings are only booked in places with disabled access, you check venues have hearing loops, you ensure documents are produced to accessible standards, you conduct EIAs on projects etc.

Oh MainlyMaynie, your ideas are much better. I wouldn't have thought of those.

Blush Hope I didn't sound like I was being rude about your suggestions Beryl.
