OMG only a week til I return to work...

Argh!
I am due to go back to work on the 21st and I dont want to go!
Can somebody reassure me that it's not going to be that bad?

I'm back next week - rather annoyed as counted my weeks wrong and back on the 13th instead of 20th. Thankfully only doing one day but have an interview to contend with - being doing an acting post till took mat leave, hopefully next week it'll be my substantive post.

returning after dd1 was much harder than I expect this return to be as I'm already used to getting ready for cm's, part time working and the commute.

elf I was going to start exactly the same thread, except it's 2 weeks!!!

I'm going back full-time, but the job was quite flexible, a lot of working from home!! With ds2 I went back to work when he was 10 weeks old .

I'm mega cheesed off as I've got really bad toothache. I want my last 2 weeks to b e fun and pain free!!

Poor you with your tooth ache, you have my sympathies.
At least you two have some experience, this is all new to me!
Evie has some hours on Monday with the CM, we're going to see how that goes and see if she needs time on Friday as well. She'll be going for a full day Monday 20th but I am around if there are any problems, then from the 21st it's all official :(

I'm going back FT too. Working 8 til 4 so that I can be hom earlier with my DD than if I worked til 5:15.
I've got some new clothes, my sis is going to do my hair (she's a hairdresser). Work have just got back to me about a room to express in so that's a weight off my mind.

I dreaded going back too! Have now been back at work (3 days a week) for 2 weeks - and guess what, it's great!!! No stress at all. I think the key thing is being happy with the childcare. My dd who is 14 months seems to be enjoying nursery, and I am enjoying the contrast of being a part-time sahm and a working gal! Being a sahm is hard work and going out to work actually gives you a break and gets your mind working. Just little things like being able to sit and have a cup of coffee and read the paper on the commute are great! And I really, really look forward to the days I have at home with dd. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine.

I've got 3 weeks and I'm in tears every day thinking about it. This is the second time for me and when i think how it was with ds it sets me off again. It'll be full time for me but in 4 days so i get 3 days at home with ds and dd. They're both starting at a new nursery and I'm at a new job that i should be really excited about. I keep telling myself how nice it will be to have a cup of tea in peace (a go to the toilet without interuptions) but it's not working. Sorry to moan, but all my friends are sahm and tell me how lucky i am to have the break from the kids. They don't seem to understand that it's hard whatever decision you make. If i didn't have to i would stay at home.

i'm back in 6 weeks, p/t 3 days a week. ds will be 1 by then and cm is next door, so is as good as can be for a totally vile thing.

actually i'm a very tiny bit excited, but cannot imagine being separated from ds - has anybody found it much easier than they feared?

I was very anxious and nervous to go back to work and to leave my 6 months baby to nursery. I told my husband that I will try it for 2 months and if I hate it or baby hate it I will then give up working and stay at home. Tomorrow will be my 2 months back to work and I want to carry on working. Baby is very happy at nursery, I find it nice to be back at work. I have to say that I work for a small cie and nursery is only 2 mns walk from work. I am working Tues till Friday and it is working out very well. So give it a go and give up if it doesn't work!Do small hours to start with and hope it goes well tomorrow Elf!!! KEEP STRONG...
