How old were your child/children when you went back to work? Did you have childcare? Did you have one shift a week then gradually increase hours? Did you have a home job? What do you recommend? I would work at home but what i've looked at online its more like paper round money. So its kinda put me off.

What work were you doing before DCs? It is often easier to return to a field where you are known, or can demonstrate qualifications/experience; and obviously the nature of the work makes a difference to what sorts of flexibility are feasible.

I worked as an cashier at Homebase store (DIY). 4 hours for four days, 16hours a week, it was fine before as it was an 20 min walk. But I moved to live with Boyfriend so its now a 30 - 45 min drive depending on traffic. So I would be spending more on petrol than getting paid. So I handed my notice in. Plus my maternity time was up. Another thing was that my boyfriend had two jobs at the time, he lost the main one in February, so we're really finding it difficult to stay on our feet. hes been looking for jobs since he lost his job. Nothing yet. I've now started to look for a job again since I handed my notice in a month ago. But then if i get a job, then he gets a full time job. I'd have to leave.
