Starting my own business part time

I work ft but would like to start my own business firstly because its something I am interested in and secondly to earn some extra money.

As I have never run my own business I am a little at a loss as where to start. Although the activity is something I love to do I am not sure how big a market it appeals to so I suppose I would need to find that out first. How would I go about doing that?

Any others advice very welcome.

I'd make an appointment with a Business Gateway advisor. They can be really helpful, and run lots of free courses about starting yur own business, marketing, market research etc etc.

Roughly what sort of thing is it you want to do? Are you going to be selling goods or a service, or teaching people to do something?

I'm starting my business while still working full time.

The business link website, www.businesslink.gov.uk is excellent and has all the advice you'll need.
