Looks like I'm going to have to need to use them, I have done so in the past but it is no longer around

I was quite ok with locuming loads of work and my pick of jobs, and I was quite taken with being paid for every hour I worked!.....

I think best agency depends on which area you are in and if it's GP or hospital posts. I worked for Medacs when doing hospital locums in Scotland as I found the ability to search for posts and view pay online good and they pay much quicker than when you do a locum via a hospital HR department. As a GP I have avoided locum agencies other than email groups/ not for profit sites as none of the practicesbin my area use agencies. Practices if well run tend to pay invoices quickly as they care about you wanting to come back again.

Yes my friend got his job through elocum24, most importantly agency should be licensed and insured and be on the preferred supplier list if you are looking for locum placements in the public sector.
