Is anyone else finding it hard to work this week?

The weather is so lovely and I can't motivate myself to do anything.

What are you doing to motivate yourself to get on with work?

I've locked myself in a dank basement so no chinks of sunlight can creep through.

Nah seriously, it's fucking shit isn't it? I escaped into the garden for half an hour yesterday afternoon and got angry with some weeds.

This afternoon I have a conference call until 5 :( - at which point I shall scurry down the stairs as fast as my little legs will carry me and fire up the BBQ.

Yes very. I have given myself two and possibly more days off to enjoy the sunshine.

I gave myself Monday and most of Tuesday off, but think I might slack off this week a bit more. My partner's at home with our baby and it's too tempting to play with them. I'm trying to work in 1hr or 2hr chunks and use a timer so that helps a bit.

I'll catch up when the weather changes! My maternity leave had so few sunny days that I think I deserve some time off now...

Also checked my bank balance which has given me a bit of motivation!

The outside of our house is being decorated, and the guy is working on the elevation that goes East to South - he was like a crisp yesterday! I did keep telling him to go, but I suppose it's difficult when you're working to a price.

Answer Two: Like FreelanceMama my bank balance is giving me a bit of motivation! Plus we're off on holiday next week so I can't procrastinate. I either do it this week or it doesn't get done! Looming deadlines are a great motivator. But I'm about to take some work to the park with a blanket - basking whilst working - the best of both worlds

Just had to go into town (London) to meet a client. So hot... so very, very hot. Tights are the devil's work.

I might try a couple of hours also sunbathing working diligently in the park this afternoon.

I think the timer idea sounds promising too.
