New career after a 5 year break

Well I have a degree, 5 years pre baby experience and I can't get a job at the moment.
I am seriously considering retraining but really just wanted to hit the ground running. Has anyone else had this problem ?

What do you mean by your can't, have you been turned down for many, or do you mean you just can't find any? What field were you in pre-baby?

ERmh. perhaps a bit of retrainig may update your CV and make you a more attractive candidate?

(Talking form experience but recognise that retraining didn't put me back on my feet, but allowed me to be seen as a person rather than only a mum).

Well a few companies, the ones i would want to work for have taken one look at my CV and said no, out of the field too long (legal recruitment btw not brain surgery).
I think I shall consider another field, I fancy a change.
