Does anyone do temp (bar/catering/retail) work?

I'm about to finish my job 2 months earlier than expected & as I'm still committed to existing childcare arrangements (& could do with the extra cash) was considering signing on with a few temping agencies in the hope of a few days/weeks work over the summer.

Does anyone else do this & if so what sort of work do you do & what sort if pay am I looking at? In my student days I worked in shops, bars & did some function waitressing so this is what I'm thinking but I've been in the corporate world so long I'm seriously out of touch!

Have you considered office-type temping? Pays better than the types you've mentioned above... whereabouts are you?

To be honest I'm open to pretty much anything as long as I don't have to commute into London anymore (I'm in Kent) and office work would be more logical given that's my current environment. I guess I'll have to have a ring around on Monday & see what's out there.
