Shared online diaries type of thing for room bookings

Don't know if this is the best place to post but there goes...

I have some friends who share a building for work and I occasionally use the room for meetings. We use a paper & pencil diary in the building to book room space. This involves a drive to the office.

Can anyone recommend an online diary or another way we can book the room space from our pcs?

We started emailing each other at the start of every week but that soon bit the dust as not everyone bothered to keep it up to date.

Google calendar

Are you saying google- as in the verb/action- or there is a tool called "Google calendar". sorry to be dim.

There's a tool called GoogleCalendar which you can share with other people

Thanks- do you have to download it? Had a look at the site and it's all a bit confusing. I do have gmail anyway so that is perhaps a starting point?

How do you actually start using it?

If you go to your gmail account, there's a calendar option at the top. If you open then and then go to 'other calendars' you have the option to create a new one and make it accessible to other people

Google calendar is FAB.

DH has a public one that is linked to his website - anybody can see the events and the information.
It can also be set so that people can book to attend and event.
DH has a private one that includes the useful bits he needs (like prices)
I have a work one
we have a family one - soon to be split out for each of the kids
when I am logged in I can see all four.
Anybody not logged into my account can only see the public one.
