...and I can't decide what to do.

Mat leave ends in the middle of September, then I have 6 weeks hol to use up before end of December. Plan was to take two months unpaid till mid November then use hols then go back start of jan.

Two months unpaid is going to put us seriously in the red so I'm thinking I should just suck it up and go back early.

DD won't really remember the time I have off with her now, however she is probably going to be my only baby so won't ever have a long time off with her again.

I should go in and speak to my manager about it all. I need to find out if I can have set shifts, rather than anytime between 6am - 10pm. DH is on permanent back shift finishing at midnight so I need to be home to put DD to sleep but can't do 6am starts because DH needs sleep too! I'm thinking I should maybe try and find a new job?

I really don't know what to do. Just had to get it all out really.

:(. I'm on maternity leave now and have to go back in October as otherwise we'd be in the red too.

Wish I could afford the while year off.

I feel for you, with DD1 was intending to take a year off, but and to go back after 6 months as DH lost his contract and we suddenly had no money coming in. In the event we used all of our savings, and when DH got back into work he had a 50% pay reduction. It is probably better to go back, we are still recovering and have ever recouped our savings 5.5 years later.
