Some money has gone missing from our Petty Cash.
I'm quite sure it's been an error and not that someone has stolen the money.
There are a few of us that work in the office and have access to the cash.

Right now the bosses are watching CCTV of the past few days to see if anyone has taken the money.

I hate that they are there right now watching me.
I feel violated. Maybe that word is inappropriate but that's how I feel.

Can they do this? Can they watch us like this?

Isn't that the whole point of having CCTV? so that you can watch it back if something happens like this?
How much money went missing?

The money has been found.
It was a mistake (not mine!).
They found it after checking some paperwork, not from looking at CCTV coverage.

Am I over reacting?
I still don't like the idea that they have been looking at us whilst working.

Glad it was an error. Yes you are over reacting.

Yes you are overreacting. Were you not aware there was CCTV in place?

Another way of looking at it is that if one of a small group of people had stolen money and there was no way of looking at footage to determine who it was, your employer could potentially (and fairly) sack a group of people.
