questions on work related stress

Hi - I am signed off with work related stress - a culmination of different things but finishing with a meeting with my line manager which has greatly upset me.

I don't feel I can return to work due to this meeting - it is clear I have no future with the company. (I don't want to go into reasons but I am a model employee, I have been struggling with 2 young children, return from mat leave and unrealistic expectations from my work)

I'm planning to raise a grievance but my questions are:

  1. is the time off with stress going to damage my future employment? I'm really worried about this as I've never taken time off.
  2. I've heard about 'injury to feelings' - is this a valid point based on 1 meeting? It was so out of the blue/ out of character with the nature of our normal relationship but has left me distraught.

Hope that someone can help. This is all so worrying - I can't believe I'm in this situation.

Sorry, I don't know, but watching with interest as I am currently signed off with depression and due to go back Monday.
I'm thinking of raising a grievance too but scared it'll end my career if I do.
Hope we get some answers.

I do not think a future employer will hold it against you as you are not signed off with stress with them Loads of people are stressed and off work these days

What is the meeting about? Do they have a valid reason for it? We would need to know more
