I'm looking for recommendations for an ecommerce site. I want it to look as professional as possible without me having to go to a web designer.

123-reg.co.uk offer a range which looks ok. I played with one on Volusion which looked fabulous and had all the bells and whistles I'm after but wasn't very intuitive/user friendly (though I have a small frame of reference and perhaps just need practice).

Shopify looks like an option so I may play with that today.

Any recommendations?

Shopify for ease and design. It's not badly priced, either, though not cheap, I agree.

Wix.com is excellent.

I'm thinking of going with Big Commerce, the features are great and prices fab too.

I built mine on iweb (Mac) and use Paypal merchant services to create 'buy buttons' which you just paste into the website. Its so easy even I could do it and I am a total technophobe.

I'd recommend Create.net, it is so easy to use, the examples are pretty good but you can also look at my site which is www.littlecreativedays.co.uk. The ecommerce side of it was very easy to set up and I can link it to Google Analytics.

One company quoted me £6000 to build a site + £600 for seo (most of which is built into create sites), I would have to sell an awful lot of craft kits to get that back, I can tell you.
