Need some advice on AfC banding of staff

Do you know if you can employ 3 members of staff on the same band but on different JD's so that one of them line manages the other 2? Or does a line manager have to be at a different band to their direct reports? tia

It is quite possible for a manager to manage other employee's on the same band. I have know instances where a managers has managed employees on a higher band before.

Welcome to Alice in AFCland. Yes it happens all the time, I manage band 7s as a band 7 myself . I'm an AHP and most higher bands are disappearing in my profession as a backdoor way of cutting salaries, we have been sold down the river by AFC. Practically though it seems to work OK but I am called a team leader (I hate that phrase)

yes it is quite possible...I do. Often means that the person being managed is lower down the pay scale but in reality with all the job cuts, they soon catch up and you are both effectively at the top of your grade pay scale.
With the cut back in band 7 posts this will happen more and more!!!
