Anyone work in NHS (as manager) and familiar with the term 'confirm and challenge'?

I have just been promoted to a secondment post as ward manager- however I have a further interview in a few weeks for the substantive post. It has been suggested that there may be a presentation to do that explores Workforce and 'confirm and challenge'- I believe that its about justifying your ward spend in relation to absenteeism and sickness/annual leave etc.

I can't find anything of any use on the internet at all- any guidance???

I did see that but didn't think it was the same thing (in my defence it was 3am in the middle of a night shift so I wasn't functioning properly)-

thanks for replying stealth
