I have had a job offer from a company to work from home, making calls to clients (not sales calls, booking routine appointments etc) - has anyone had any experience of this and how have you found it? That's about it really - I'm just a bit nervous of taking the plunge as I don't quite know what to expect - I will be working from home with a phone/headset and PC, calling customers for bookings/to update details etc. I have to sign up for a minimum length of time (waiting to see contract to see how long) or else they reserve the right to withhold salary to cover training costs that they have effectively wasted if I leave. I think that's the only reason I'm waivering - the fear of not wanting to do it/not being any good at it and being stuck with it for months.

I know - I'm not sure why I'm not biting their arms off for it! I need the money, there are no worries about travel costs or buying new work clothes - but I have had 9 years of being around all the time in the school hols, and I will need to rely on my mum/friends/holiday clubs to have the kids apart from the 2 weeks I can take in the school hols (and that's assuming I am lucky enough to get the time off - the majority of the staff have children, you are only allowed 10 of your 20 days in any school holiday time inc half terms, unless you know what you want and request it on the day the holiday list opens you have no chance of getting school hols)

Hoping that someone else has experience of this kind of work? Dialling in from home and using a system called Quickbase to log calls/take work assignments from?

Try and see if anyone at www.societyofvirtualassistants.co.uk has heard of them?
