Online self assessment question

I'm new at this, so hopefully someone here can help.

I completed my first self-assessment tax return online at the beginning of the year, and after submitting, paid the tax outstanding immediately.

I haven't heard anything since - is this normal? I expected to get a letter or something confirming my year's accounts.

Should get a statement, ours usually arrives a couple of weeks after. If you log on to the Gateway site should be able to check all been processed.

Thanks - I thought I should get a statement or something, but neither DH or I did. It was my first time, and DH always used an accountant before, so I didn't know what to expect.

I logged in to the Gateway site and it says it was received on time and paid on time.

I have a extremely vague memory of hearing something about them not sending paper statements any more. I know I didn't get one, but I didn't owe any tax either.

We got one this year but we had a refund ...

they may not send you anything.
If you log into your account, you should be able to see it showing nil.
They are probably in shock that you paid it right away.
Most of us pay at the last possible minute (11 pm on 31st January was my closest shave!)
