Hi i was wondering how the phasing back to work happens has anyone had to phase back gradually after having a baby in terms of hours or days.

my boss is happy for me to phase back in but they said it's up to me how i would like it to happen. my baby is four months and i'm entitled to 5.5 weeks phase back to work, however i only have 2 months to till the end of my contract and would like to still use the phase in method. my baby is only 4 months old.

I have written phase back plans for other but not used one or had any complaints. The must common is below:

Week 1: Tuesday morning (approx 4 hour) and Thursday the same.(2 sessions)
Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday monings (3 sessions)
Week 3: Tuesday morning Wednesday all day Thursday morning (4 sessions)
Week 4: Tuesday all day. Wednesday afternoon Thursday all day (5 sessions)
Week 5: Monday morning Tuesday all day. Wednesday afternoon Thursday all day Friday morning. (7 sessions)
Week 6: on week six as you only have 5.5 entitlement I would leave early or come in late on two early day in the week

This is only a ruff guide. It's about sessions the morning being one and the afternoon being another. During your phase return you should not take work home.

Hope I have not gone to long
